Bio

KLEK is a duo formed in January 2020 by Salvador Holbox and AJ Méndez, thanks to the suggestion, idea, and inspiration of Jaz Coleman, vocalist and co-founder of the cult English band and post-punk legend Killing Joke.

Jaz Coleman chose Querétaro, Mexico, as a place to rest after the Fear Inoculum tour with Tool in 2019. During that time, at a meeting in Querétaro, Mexico, Jaz introduced Salvador to AJ, two Mexican musicians and Killing Joke fans who had met through a gathering organized by Jaz. At that meeting, Jaz conceived the idea of ​​creating this duo, guided by the sound the three of them were aiming for in this project, during the 2020-2021 pandemic. KLEK collaborated with Jaz on three songs under his direction in different locations across Mexico.

This band and collaboration is part of Jaz Coleman's BIG THRASH MASTERCLASS:

“The imperative to inspire a new generation of experimental/explosive or activist music bands (if you prefer) has become a personal crusade in recent years (Jaz). KLEK continues working on more singles to promote and will release their first EP in the near future.
